Installation Warnings
Take into account the following warnings when installing the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 dock and mount.
Do not install the driver tablet in a location directly exposed to any parts that may generate heat that exceeds 140° F (60° C). The mounting location must not be in the engine compartment or near hydraulic components that generate excessive heat.
Do not install the driver tablet in locations that may be immersed in grease, water, mud, or any area directly exposed to pressure washing. Choose a mounting location protected from exposure to these hazards.
Do not install the equipment or wiring in the deployment path of any air bag.
When mounting the driver tablet in a vertical position, ensure that the wiring harnesses are towards the ground. This eliminates moisture contamination from water running down the wires.
Use of two-way radios in some situations can cause undesired behavior on the driver tablet. This is even more prevalent in trucks with fiberglass cabs/roofs, as it provides less protection against stray radio waves. Dock the driver tablet as far away from the roof antenna of the two-way radio as possible (at least 3-4 feet). Distance from the radio itself is irrelevant. It is recommended that a ground plane is used with the two-way radio antenna to reduce interference. Such signal interference is avoidable with (Undefined variable: 5c-main.trackit-talk), a wireless communication module controlled from the TrackIt Android app.
If any fuses are on the wiring harnesses, make sure the fuse box is easy to reach for fuse replacement. Place the fuse box on the harness close to the driver tablet connector.
