PREREQUISITE: Companies must have Engine Diagnostics licensing to use this screen.

When equipmentAll machines used as a means of production on a construction site or at a batch plant. registers a problem internally, its engine control unit (ECUAlso known as an engine control module, this device controls engine performance by monitoring data reported by myriad built-in sensors. This data is interpreted by the ECU and then relayed to engine diagnostic hardware, such as an OBC or EDC.) sends a fault code in an encoded format. This screen allows you to translate the raw underlying data into a text description of the engine eventEngine data recorded by TrackIt that includes fault codes and driver behaviors like hard braking.. These fault codes consist of a Suspect Parameter Number (SPN) codeDiagnostic fault code terminology used by commercial equipment. These codes identify specific parameters (component or system circuits) and associate a diagnostic trouble code with the problem area. SPN codes are used on vehicles equipped with a J1939 buss., which indicates the device failing on the vehicleAll machines used as a means of production on a construction site or at a batch plant., and a Failure Mode Identifier (FMI) code, which indicates the type of fault.

As part of setting up each translation, administrators must identify and associate an SPN codeDiagnostic fault code terminology used by commercial equipment. These codes identify specific parameters (component or system circuits) and associate a diagnostic trouble code with the problem area. SPN codes are used on vehicles equipped with a J1939 buss. with an FMI code. A description is then needed so that the codes may be understood by the driver and dispatcher when seen on the TrackIt Android app or the TrackIt Web Console.
