Applying restrictions to a status ensures that drivers follow a logical sequence of connected steps as they proceed through their daily jobs and don't mistakenly change to an irrelevant status or skip other statuses in a process.

Each Status Type may have restrictions applied to its associated statuses.

A driver logs in on the TrackIt Android app and first enters the CLOCK IN status. The next status they may enter is PRE-TRIP. Future statuses in the loop, such as LOADING or TO JOB, cannot be entered until the driver has entered the PRE-TRIP status and completed any associated tasks. Upon exiting this status, the driver once again only has one option for the status they may enter: LOADING. The driver continues through a logical series of tasks and cannot skip or alter the order of statuses entered.

PREREQUISITE: A To create a status type and all of its associated Statuses must be added before a Status Restriction can be added.

Try the tutorial

  1. Navigate to Settings > Status > Status Restriction.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select the To create a status type containing the statuses needing restrictions.
  3. Select the Edit button next to the status you would like to add a restriction to.
  4. From the dialog screen, select a status from the Status Type in the drop-down menu.
  5. Click the Add to Status button to add the status as the next status in the status loop.
  6. Check the box next to the status to give drivers the option to manually change to the status.
  7. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add additional status options to the usual status progression.
  8. Reorder the statuses by selecting a status and using the up or down buttons.
TrackIt Android will display the status at the top as the default option for the status progression.
  1. Click the Save button to add the restrictions to the status.
