Permission Type

Access to each TrackIt Web Console screen is controlled by a user's permission type, meaning their user type. A user's type typically only retains access to components of TrackIt relevant to their jobA project that orders and tickets are grouped under. duties. For example, administrators need access to all screens, whereas HR only needs access to screens relating to Payroll.

Each component of TrackIt may be restricted from a user when adding a permission type. Adding or editing a type launches a dialog windowA pop-up window that requires user input. with a check box list of Permission Bundles. Any selected bundle is then accessible to users given that permission type.

Once all desired permissions are selected, each Site User must then be assigned to a permission type for restrictions to take effect.

PREREQUISITE: You will need to add the desired Permission Bundles for these to be available in Permission Type.
  1. Navigate to Settings > Permission Type.
  2. Click the Add Permission Type button.
  3. Enter in a description.
  4. Check the boxes for the Bundle Types you would like to include in the permission type.
  5. Click Save to finish.
