Install the Power/Engine Diagnostic Cable

Before installing the OBCClosedA vehicle data monitoring device that collects diagnostic information sent by the ECU and reports it to TrackIt., you need to secure a connection to the vehicleClosedAll machines used as a means of production on a construction site or at a batch plant.'s power and to the engine diagnosticsClosedTrackable vehicle data reported by the ECU. Such information allows a company to proactively monitor the health of equipment. port. The OBC draws from both to transmit information to TrackItTrackIt.

  1. Remove any existing connection or Deutsch 9-pin power/engine diagnostic cable from the vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECUClosedAlso known as an engine control module, this device controls engine performance by monitoring data reported by myriad built-in sensors. This data is interpreted by the ECU and then relayed to engine diagnostic hardware, such as an OBC or EDC.).
  2. Identify each connection for the Command Alkon Incorporated power/engine diagnostic cable.
    1. Electrical leads
    2. Blue Molex-type connector (goes to OBCPIGOCTO Molex-type connector)
    3. Deutsch 9-pin male connector (secures to port access)
    4. Deutsh 9-pin female connector (goes to vehicle ECU)

Blue molex-type, Deutsch 9-pin male, and Deutsch 9-pin female connectors.

  1. Connect the female end of the power/engine diagnostic cable into the ECU plug of the vehicle. This end of the cable will remain continuously connected to the ECU.

  1. Connect the blue Molex-type connector on the power/engine diagnostics cable to the Molex-type connector on the OBCPIGOCTO cable (A).
  2. Connect the red electrical lead to a 4A or 5A fast blow fuse and then to vehicle power.
  3. Connect the white electrical lead to a 4A or 5A fast blow fuse and then to vehicle ignition.
  4. Connect the black electrical lead to vehicle ground.
