Configuring permissions

Once employees have been given employee types and added into the TrackIt Web Console, certain employees must be given access to specific pages within the TrackIt Web Console to complete their work tasks. Depending on an employeeUser accounts for drivers, dispatchers, and other staff to perform varying functions in TrackIt.'s responsibilities, an administrator can allow and restrict access to specific pages. Follow the steps below to properly add a site user with permissions.

  1. Add permission bundles
  2. Add a permission type
  3. Add a site user

1. Add a bundle type

A bundle type allows you to group screens by task or jobA project that orders and tickets are grouped under. responsibility to adjust what users can access. The set of pages bundled can encompass a specific task or ensure a user is restricted from accessing pages containing settings or functions that fall under another user's responsibilities. Each bundle type is provided as an option in the Permission Bundles screen.

2. Add a permission type

Once bundles are added, you can add a permission type. We recommend naming the permission type with the same name as the job title for the employees to which the permission applies. For example, Dispatcher or Admin.

3. Add employees as TrackIt Web Console site users

After employees have been added to TrackIt, the employees may require access to the TrackIt Web Console. This is especially true if the employee is a dispatcher, administrator, or in payroll. You can set up how much of TrackIt can be accessible to each user depending on their work tasks.
