OBC Installation Guide

The on-board computerClosedA vehicle data monitoring device that collects diagnostic information sent by the ECU and reports it to TrackIt. (OBCClosedA vehicle data monitoring device that collects diagnostic information sent by the ECU and reports it to TrackIt.) is used to monitor engine events and was previously distributed with either the RDT-A7.0 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab® E.

As of 2018, the OBC was replaced with the Command Alkon Engine Data Controller (EDC) for standard engine diagnostic tracking.

Overview

Installing the OBC entails the following steps:

  1. Assemble the required hardware and components. The cellular and GPS antennas included with the installation unit will differ depending on the makeup of the vehicleClosedAll machines used as a means of production on a construction site or at a batch plant..
  2. Install the power/engine diagnostics cable.
  3. Install the OBC317. You will need to install the OBC, cellular antenna, and GPS in secure positions in and on the vehicle. .
  4. Verify OBC functionality. Once you have installed the OBC and required cables, you will need to ensure everything is working correctly.
