When used with an integrated ticketing solution, the hotspot created for a ticket will only be used by the vehicles assigned.

Adding a status hotspot

This screen allows you to set the parameters used for hotspots created by a status. When equipment enters the associated status, the hotspot is created and centered on the location of the equipment.

Status

The required status an Employee must be in for TrackIt to create a Hotspot.

A ticket requires the delivery of multiple ready-mix loads to a destination location. When the first mixer on the job enters the Pouring status, the hotspot automatically appears on the map. Subsequent drivers and loads then use that hotspot to identify the pouring destination.

Hotspot Type

The hotspot is categorized according to the Hotspot Type selected here. Any rules and settings associated with that type are applied to the newly-created hotspot.

Permanent

When equipment enters the status that creates this hotspot, the geofenceGeographic areas marked on a map that act as destinations for driver navigation or triggers for automated behaviors in TrackIt. is designated as a permanent place of interest on the Equipment Map.

We do not recommend setting job sites as permanent.

Selected check box

Selected

The hotspot is flagged as permanent and will not disappear until manually deleted.

Cleared check box

Deselected

The hotspot is considered temporary and will disappear from the Equipment MapA map view that tracks the locations and statuses of individual equipment in a fleet. The dispatcher's equivalent to a "bird's-eye view." screen based on the hotspot type and Ticket Integration settings.

Active

The hotspot is flagged as Active and may be interacted with by any assigned equipment.

Selected check box

Selected

When flagged as active, any behaviors associated with the hotspot may be triggered by equipment that enter or exit the hotspot. For example, status changes triggered by On Enter or On Exit will occur.

Cleared check box

Deselected

If the hotspot is not active, then behaviors triggered by interactions with the hotspot location will not occur. This includes actions like automatic status changes.

Create inside existing hotspot

If the equipment is already located within an existing hotspot when the conditions for creating a hotspot are triggered, this setting allows for the creation of overlapping hotspots.

Selected check box

Selected

Regardless of whether a driver is positioned within an existing hotspot, a new hotspot is created and centered on the equipment when the triggering status is entered.

Cleared check box

Unchecked/
Deselected

If the driver is located within an existing hotspot when changing to the status that would trigger a hotspot's creation, a new hotspot is not added to the Equipment Map. TrackIt will not attempt to create a hotspot again until they enter the triggering status again.

Roaming

This type of geofence is known as a "roaming" hotspot. which means the destination location may move throughout the day.

Selected check box

Selected

The hotspot is flagged as a roaming hotspot and will automatically create a new hotspot as the equipment nears the edge of the latest hotspot.

To avoid accidentally creating hotspots when departing the pour site, a speed requirement is applied. Equipment must be traveling at a speed of less than 3 MPH to create a new hotspot, otherwise no new geofence will be added upon reaching the edge of the existing hotspot.

The geofence created here is stationary and will not adjust its center of focus if the equipment reaches the edge of the hotspot.
