Troubleshooting
Due to the myriad hardware and software components involved with the COMMANDassurance ProbeA probe device mounted in the side of a bin to measure the moisture content of aggregate materials such as sand., a variety of errors may occur. The following solutions address many of the most common questions posed by probe users.
Speed

A speed reading of 3 indicates that the drum is mixing at a rate of 3 full rotations per minute (RPM).

A speed reading of -3 indicates that the drum is unloading at a rate of 3 full rotations per minute (RPM).

For the most ideal slumpSlump is defined as the number of inches (or millimeters) concrete will sag, or slump, when a special test cone filled with the concrete is turned upside down and the cone pulled off the concrete. In other markets this is called ‘consistency’. Consistency for concrete can be stated different ways. Examples are: slump, flow, workability. We mostly use ‘slump’. readings, set your drum to 2.5 RPM.

The speed reading will blink repeatedly when the pressure measurement obtained by the probe is not yet stable. Either wait several minutes for a reading or reduce the rotation speed of the drum.
Fully mixed

If TrackIt is configured to allow status changes based on probe readings, you should automatically be changed to the next statusThe specific activity or task a driver is currently engaged in, typically as part of a process called a "status loop." in the loop when your loadThe total amount of concrete or asphalt that is being or has been batched for delivery. is fully mixedAfter loading, when the concrete becomes homogenous..
For example, if you're in the Loading status and the probe determines that the load is fully mixed, it will automatically change you to the To Job status and you may leave the plantA production plant or material storage location..
Adding water

This is the maximum water quantity that can be added to the mix. The authorized quantity of water you may add to a load is automatically reduced by the amount of water added.

It is the total water quantity added measured by the flow meter.

The water quantity added exceeds the maximum allowed waterWhat the driver is allowed to add after the batch water has been added by the batching system.. On the display, this value will flash repeatedly.
Battery & charge levels

The solar panel should be up (at the top of the drum) when the truckAll machines used as a means of production on a construction site or at a batch plant. is parked. There is a round sticker (Red or Yellow) on the drum.
Use your side mirror to locate it and stop the drum when the sticker is at 90° (on the side).

The Battery Status reading on the tablet indicates the current health of the battery charging hardware.
Full | Good. |
---|---|
Medium | Need to be monitored daily. Pay attention to the position of the solar panel when parked. |
Low | System needs to be recharged manually. |

Based on the Voltage reading, the battery level of the control unit may be identified. The current voltage is associated with the following meanings:
3.9-4.2 | Good: Keep solar panel at the top of drum when parked. |
---|---|
3.6-3.8 | Medium: Check the battery level daily. Keep solar panel at the top of drum when parked. |
3.4 – 3.5 | Low: Still working but needs to be recharged manually. |
< 3.2 | Very low: The system stops working, it needs to be recharged manually. |

If no data has been received from the probe for the last 30 minutes, only the battery voltage will appear on the display.
Solar panel

The solar panel should be up (at the top of the drum) when the truck is parked. There is a round sticker (Red or Yellow) on the drum. Use your side mirror to locate it and stop the drum when the sticker is at 90° (on the side).
Based on the positioning of the solar panel, the TrackIt Android app will give a rating for its charge quality, as described below.
3.9-4.2 | Good: The probe is located in an optimal position. |
---|---|
3.6-3.8 | Medium: The probe is charging at an average rate. It will recharge the battery at a lower rate; a correction of the position is suggested unless you judge the solar panel will catch more sunlight there. |
3.4 – 3.5 | Low: The probe still works, but needs to be recharged manually. |
< 3.2 | Very low: A correction of the drum position is required. |
Slump

The slump can only be measured when the drum speed is between 0.5 and 3 RPM.

The reason the display or tablet may not have a slump reading is dependent upon a variety of conditions. The most common cases are:
- The drum speed exceeds 3 RPM or is below 0.5 RPM
- The concrete is not uniform (i.e., not fully mixed or unevenly distributed water)
- The concrete is too stiff to read slump (i.e., below 2.0”)
It is possible to calibrate the probe to measure slump spreadThe consistency of fresh concrete before it sets is called workability. The makeup of a mix is measured using a slump flow test to measure both vertical and horizontal settling. Slump factors in the viscous nature of a mixture and is measured vertically. Spread factors in the flow of the material and is measured horizontally. and slump flows
Temperature

The temperature of the concrete is out of specification or disabled when the truck is out of the plant.

The temperature has changed by 0.3° or more in the last 10 minutes. This is considered a rapid temperature change.
Volume

The drum is empty or the volume is less than 2 yd³.

The system did not receive a volume from batchThe total amount of concrete or asphalt that is being or has been batched for delivery. and is still measuring the drum load. Wait for a solid value.
